Torchlight: Infinite has just revealed exciting details about its upcoming Season 8: Sandlord, set to launch on April 17th. This season promises a significant transformation with the introduction of the Cloud Oasis, featuring innovative economic gameplay mechanics. Additionally, the beloved Deep Space area has been completely revamped, ensuring an even more engaging experience for players.
Season 8 introduces the Sandlord mechanic, where players can build their own aerial empires in the Cloud Oasis. Here, you'll engage in trading resources, assigning workers, and managing production lines to fortify your stronghold in the skies. It's not just about battling monsters anymore; it's about strategic economic management in Torchlight: Infinite’s eighth season.
Thea returns with a fresh twist this season. Her new Blasphemer trait replaces her divine powers with a curse named Desecration. This curse starts off weak but scales powerfully, amplifying Erosion damage based on the remaining blessing power. Players can further enhance this trait into area-of-effect explosions or health-scaling effects, making it ideal for those who enjoy damage-over-time mechanics and intricate build synergies.
Endgame content is receiving a major overhaul as well. Deep Space now boasts five new stages, expanded maps, and more challenging enemies. Players can adjust the difficulty and potential rewards with the new Probes system, where each probe increases the challenge but can yield better loot, including Compass chests through the Compass Probe.
The update also brings a Blending System for belt crafting, enabling players to fuse Hero Traits, Talent nodes, and unique affixes into a single item slot, thus offering deeper build customization. A formidable new boss, Night Slayer – The Wilting Plume, has been added to the Plane Watcher and the 20th floor of Supreme Showdown.
To celebrate the season's launch, the Sands of Fortune anniversary event will run from April 17th to May 1st. Players can complete tasks to earn Gold Rush Attempts and compete for a chance to win from a $250,000 prize pool.
