The Battle of Polytopia has just rolled out an exciting new feature that promises to shake up the gameplay: Weekly Challenges. If you're a fan of this 4X strategy game, you're in for a treat as this new mode introduces a fresh way to showcase your skills and compete against others. Let's dive into all the details you need to know about this thrilling update.
It Was Random Before
Randomness has always been a key element in The Battle of Polytopia, with diverse enemies, resources, and maps keeping the game unpredictable and engaging. However, the latest free update brings a more structured competitive edge to the mix.
Every week, players will face the same map, tribe, and gameplay conditions. The challenge? You have 20 turns to achieve the highest score possible. You get just one attempt per day, which means you have a maximum of seven tries each week. This new feature also allows you to experiment with tribes you might not own yet. Out of the total 16 tribes—four available in the base game and twelve more available for purchase between $1 and $4—everyone competes with the same tribe, regardless of ownership.

Will Weekly Challenges Make The Battle of Polytopia More Exciting?
Absolutely, the Weekly Challenges are set to inject new life into the game. Additionally, the update introduces a League system, starting everyone in the Entry League. Your performance each week determines whether you move up, down, or stay in your current league. The top third of players advance, the bottom third drop down, and the middle group remains unchanged.
As you progress through the leagues, the difficulty level increases. In the Entry League, you'll face AI set to Easy mode, but by the time you reach the Gold League, you'll be up against bots on Crazy difficulty. Miss a week? No worries—you won't be demoted, but your ranking will adjust based on how others perform.
