Zenless Zone Zero Tier List: December 24, 2024

HoYoverse's Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) boasts a diverse cast of characters, each with unique mechanics and synergy potential. This tier list ranks all 1.0 characters based on current meta (updated December 24, 2024). Remember, tier lists are fluid and subject to change with new content.

Note: The relative rankings within each tier can be debated depending on team composition and playstyle.

S-Tier

S-Tier Characters These units excel in their roles and synergize exceptionally well.

  • Miyabi: Exceptional Frost damage and swift attacks make her a top performer. Requires strategic play to maximize her potential.

Miyabi

  • Jane Doe: A superior version of Piper, boasting significantly higher Assault Anomaly Crit damage. While Anomaly units are generally slower, her power makes her an S-tier contender alongside Zhu Yuan and Ellen.

Jane Doe

  • Yanagi: Excels at triggering Disorder, even without applying Shock, making her a valuable partner for Anomaly-focused teams, particularly with Miyabi.

Yanagi

  • Zhu Yuan: A high-DPS character with swift Shotshell attacks. Works well with Stun and Support characters; optimal pairings include Qingyi and Nicole in version 1.1.

Zhu Yuan

  • Caesar: Redefines the Defensive Agent role with exceptional protection, powerful buffs, debuffs, and crowd control. Scales with Impact, enabling easy enemy stuns.

Caesar

  • Qingyi: A versatile Stunner, effective in any squad with an Attack Agent. Quickly builds Daze and applies significant DMG multipliers to stunned enemies. While excellent, she doesn't surpass Lycaon in Ellen teams.

Qingyi

  • Lighter: A Stun Agent with significant buffs, ideal for Fire and Ice teams.

Lighter

  • Lycaon: An Ice-type Stun unit. His charged attacks apply Ice and Daze, synergizing with Anomaly reactions. Crucially, he reduces Ice resistance and boosts ally Daze DMG.

Lycaon

  • Ellen: An Ice-element Attack Agent. Her synergy with Lycaon and Soukaku is exceptional, delivering high damage, especially with her EX Special Attacks and Ultimate.

Ellen

  • Harumasa: A free-to-obtain Electric Attack character. Requires specific setup to unleash his full damage potential.

Harumasa

  • Soukaku: A Support character who buffs Ice Anomaly and provides significant Ice buffs to allies like Ellen and Lycaon.

Soukaku

  • Rina: A Support Agent dealing considerable damage while granting PEN (defense ignore) to allies. Also buffs Shock Anomaly and reactions.

Rina

A-Tier

A-Tier Characters Strong in specific team compositions.

  • Nicole: An Ether Support, pulling enemies into energy fields and boosting Ether DMG while shredding enemy DEF. Less effective with non-Ether DPS units.

Nicole

  • Seth: A decent shield and support, but not as impactful as top-tier buffers. Niche for Anomaly DPS.

Seth

  • Lucy: Provides off-field DMG and an ATK% buff. Synergy with other characters enhances her DPS.

Lucy

  • Piper: Relies heavily on her EX Special Attack for high Assault Anomaly damage. Works well in Anomaly-focused teams.

Piper

  • Grace: Quickly applies Shock and builds Anomaly, triggering continuous DMG. While still relevant, newer Anomaly Agents diminish her impact.

Grace

  • Koleda: A reliable Fire/Stun unit, effective in teams with other Fire characters. Synergizes well with Ben.

Koleda

  • Anby: A reliable Stunner, but easily interrupted compared to others in her class.

Anby

  • Soldier 11: High damage output, but straightforward mechanics.

Soldier 11

B-Tier

B-Tier Characters Offers some utility, but outperformed by others.

  • Ben: A defensive character with parry and punish mechanics. Slow and limited team benefits outside of Crit Rate buff.

Ben

  • Nekomata: High AoE damage, but heavily reliant on team support. Potential to improve with future content.

Nekomata

C-Tier

C-Tier Characters Currently lack significant impact.

  • Corin: Physical damage dealer, but outclassed by Nekomata and Piper.

Corin

  • Billy: High attack frequency but low damage output.

Billy

  • Anton: Interesting Core Skill, but suffers from low DPS.
