Clash Royale's Latest Update: Spirit Empress and New Events

Supercell has released a new Clash Royale update starring the Spirit Empress, alongside a completely fresh way to play. While the game has always been known for its quick arena duels, these latest changes are clearly designed to win back lapsed players.

What is the New Game Mode?

It's called Merge Tactics. The mode maintains the core gameplay but adds a merging mechanic, allowing players to fuse summoned units into more powerful versions. If you're familiar with Rush Royale, the concept will feel instantly recognizable.

A key part of this update is the Spirit Empress, a highly adaptable force in Clash Royale. She offers two distinct playstyles. For 3 Elixir, you can deploy her as a ground troop, or for 6 Elixir, summon her mounted on her spirit dragon.

Alongside her, the Skeleton Barrel is receiving an Evolution. The Evolved Skeleton Barrel now drops barrels that deal death damage and release skeletons upon destruction. If these barrels are damaged while airborne, they fall prematurely, creating unexpected skeleton surges that can overwhelm an unsuspecting opponent.

Here's a look at the events for this month!

From now until July 14th, the Skeleton Barrel Evolution Draft lets you try out Card Evolutions within a classic draft format.

The Spirit Empress takes center stage in a dedicated event from July 14th to 21st. This is followed by another event from July 18th to 21st to put her full versatility to the test.

Sudden Death mode makes a comeback from July 21st to 28th, where the first player to destroy a Crown Tower wins instantly. Finally, the Goblin Party Rocket event runs from July 28th to August 4th, introducing a unique rocket card.
