Cursed Objects (or "Cursed Possessions") are randomly generated items in Phasmophobia, appearing across various maps based on game mode and settings. Activating them within the location unlocks their abilities.

Unlike standard equipment, Cursed Objects provide "cheat-like" advantages with significant drawbacks. Locating the ghost's favorite area or boosting your team comes at a cost: substantial sanity loss, temporary blindness, or unexpected "cursed" hunts. Use them cautiously; sometimes, avoiding them is the better strategy. Note that Cursed Objects won't appear at all difficulty levels or in Challenge Mode.

Phasmophobia currently features seven Cursed Objects, each with unique abilities and debilitating effects. A common consequence is a dramatic sanity decrease for the user. Proximity to the user during activation significantly increases the chance of a "cursed hunt."

Cursed hunts mirror regular hunts but ignore sanity levels and can occur immediately after a previous hunt. They last 20 seconds longer, making escape more challenging depending on difficulty.

Tarot Cards	Ten random cards offering buffs, debuffs, or increased ghost activity. The "Death" card triggers a Cursed Hunt.
Ouija Board	Direct communication with the ghost. Questions like "Hide and Seek" or shattering the board trigger Cursed Hunts.
Haunted Mirror	Reveals the ghost's favorite room. Shattering the mirror initiates a Cursed Hunt.
Music Box	Reveals the ghost's location via a special event. Prolonged use triggers a Cursed Hunt.
Summoning Circle	Summons and traps the ghost. Always triggers a Cursed Hunt unless a Tier 3 Crucifix is present.
Voodoo Doll	Forces ghost interactions by pushing pins. Pushing the heart pin triggers a Cursed Hunt.
Monkey Paw	Grants wishes influencing the ghost or environment. Some wishes severely hinder the player.
