Deltarune's Secret "SPECIAL ROOM" Reveals Exclusive Switch 2 Feature

Deltarune is set to launch on the Nintendo Switch 2, as revealed in the recent Nintendo Direct for Switch 2 on April 2. This version will not only include chapters 3 and 4 but also boast some exclusive features tailored for the next-gen console.

Toby Fox, the game's developer, shared in a Fangamer newsletter that the Switch 2 edition will feature a unique "SPECIAL ROOM." This room will leverage the mouse functionality of the new Joy-Cons, allowing players to use mouse controls on two controllers simultaneously—a feature exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2. Fox excitedly stated, "So, we made a very small SPECIAL ROOM which takes advantage of using MOUSE CONTROLS ON TWO CONTROLLERS AT ONCE, only possible on the Nintendo Switch 2!!"

For those without a Switch 2, fear not! The SPECIAL ROOM will still be accessible, albeit with a different control scheme. Moreover, players can seamlessly import their save files from the Nintendo Switch demo of Deltarune 1 and 2 into the new version.

Deltarune Future Chapters Will Be Free

In the same newsletter, Toby Fox revealed that Deltarune will be priced at $24.99. This price includes Chapters 1 and 2, as well as the newly added Chapters 3 and 4. Initially released in 2018 and 2021 respectively, Chapters 1 and 2 were free, but it was previously stated that Chapters 3-5 would require payment.

However, Fox has now announced a delightful twist: all future chapters will be available as free updates. This means that a single purchase of the game grants access to all future content without additional cost. Fox expressed his hope that as more chapters are added, players will feel that "this game was a super super super super good deal."

Additionally, the game's soundtrack will be available on Steam for $14.99. With the release of Chapters 3 and 4, over 150 new songs will be added, and songs from future chapters will also be included at no extra charge. Deltarune is set to deliver exceptional value, ensuring that every penny spent is well worth it.
