Fortnite OG Battle Royale Gets Fan-Favorite Items in Latest Update

Author : Emily Apr 20,2025

*Fortnite* enthusiasts have plenty to celebrate with the latest update that reintroduces beloved gear such as the Hunting Rifle and Launch Pad. December marks a bustling period for Epic Games, with the game not only rolling out new skins but also launching its much-anticipated annual Winterfest event.

The Winterfest celebration transforms *Fortnite*'s island into a winter wonderland, complete with a fresh layer of snow, event quests, and special items like Icy Feet and Blizzard Grenade. Players can enjoy a host of rewards from the Cozy Cabin, along with premium skins featuring icons such as Mariah Carey, Santa Dogg, and Santa Shaq. Beyond the festive cheer, *Fortnite* continues to expand its universe through exciting collaborations with Cyberpunk 2077, Batman Ninja, and more. Additionally, the game's OG mode is receiving ongoing updates to keep the nostalgia alive.

Fortnite Winterfest and OG Mode Update

The recent hotfix for *Fortnite* may be small, but it's a big deal for longtime fans. The update brings back the Launch Pad to the OG mode, a nostalgic item from Chapter 1, Season 1. Launch Pads were the go-to for quick traversal before vehicles and other movement aids came into play, allowing players to gain a strategic advantage by launching into the air or making a swift escape.

  • Hunting Rifle
  • Cluster Clinger

The nostalgia doesn't stop there. Alongside the Launch Pad, the hotfix reintroduces the Hunting Rifle from Chapter 3, providing players with a long-range option, especially valuable since sniper rifles were removed in Chapter 6, Season 1. The Cluster Clingers from Chapter 5 also make a comeback, available in both Battle Royale and Zero Build modes, just like the Hunting Rifle.

The success of *Fortnite* OG has been phenomenal, drawing 1.1 million players within the first two hours of its launch. Complementing the mode, Epic Games introduced an OG Item Shop, where players can purchase classic skins and items. However, not everyone is thrilled about the return of ultra-rare skins like the Renegade Raider and Aerial Assault Trooper, sparking mixed reactions among the community.
