The PC version of Stellar Blade is set to launch on Steam on June 11, bringing with it a host of PC-specific features, as revealed by a trailer that was accidentally published and then removed by Sony Interactive Entertainment on the PlayStation YouTube channel. This announcement follows over a year after Stellar Blade's successful launch on PS5 in April 2024.
Stellar Blade on PC will boast features tailored for the platform, including AI upscaling with Nvidia DLSS 4 and AMD FSR 3 technologies, an unlocked framerate, voiceover options in Japanese and Chinese, ultrawide display support, enhanced environment textures, and DualSense controller support for haptic feedback and trigger effects.
The trailer also unveiled a new boss battle against Mann, the Leader of the Sentinels, and introduced 25 new costumes, which are expected to be available on PS5 as well. Additionally, a curious scene at the trailer's end shows Eve releasing a memory stick, sparking speculation about a potential new ending or additional DLC for the game.
The trailer confirms the Stellar Blade Complete Edition's release for both PC and PS5. Stellar Blade, developed by the Korean studio Shift Up, was a commercial success, generating $43 million in royalties in the last financial year and selling over 1 million copies within two months on PS5. Shift Up anticipates that the PC version will surpass the sales of the PS5 edition and has expressed interest in developing another game within the franchise.
In Stellar Blade, players control Eve, engaging in fast-paced action RPG combat against mysterious invaders to reclaim Earth. Despite earning a 7/10 in IGN's review and quickly selling a million copies, the game was noted for its strong action elements but criticized for its characters, story, and certain RPG mechanics that were deemed less engaging.
