Netflix Is Dropping The Electric State: Kid Cosmo, a Prequel Game to the Upcoming Movie

Netflix is set to launch an exciting new game tied to their upcoming sci-fi adventure film, *The Electric State*. The game, titled *The Electric State: Kid Cosmo*, is a puzzle game with a unique retro-futuristic twist. Scheduled for release on March 18th, it will come just four days after the film premieres on Netflix on March 14th. Directed by the acclaimed Russo brothers, the movie stars Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt, taking viewers on a post-apocalyptic road trip across an alternate '90s America, complete with massive robots.

It’s Not Going to be a Simple Adaptation of the Movie

Contrary to what you might expect, *The Electric State: Kid Cosmo* isn't a direct adaptation of the film. Instead, it serves as a prequel, delving into the childhoods of two pivotal characters, Chris and Michelle. Developed by BUCK Games in partnership with AGBO, the game offers a game-within-a-game experience. BUCK Games, known for the successful roguelite puzzle game *Let’s! Revolution!* on Steam, promises engaging gameplay for *Kid Cosmo*.

The game takes players through a series of puzzle adventures reminiscent of the *WarioWare* series, but with a distinct '80s flair. Set in Wichita, Kansas, in 1985, the narrative spans five years, providing a deeper understanding of Chris and Michelle’s journey before the movie's events. Players will collect modules, repair Kid Cosmo's ship, and solve puzzles that unveil the secrets of this enigmatic world. Get a sneak peek of *The Electric State: Kid Cosmo* in the trailer below.

The Electric State: Kid Cosmo Follows Netflix’s Trend of Spin-Offs

This release aligns with Netflix's recent push to expand its gaming library, particularly with interactive spin-offs. From *Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales* and *Too Hot to Handle Series* to *Money Heist: Ultimate Choice* and *Squid Game: Unleashed*, Netflix continues to enrich its gaming portfolio.
