Nintendo Unveils Today App: A Hub for Fans' News and Content

Author : Isaac Apr 14,2025

Nintendo Today is a fresh app from the creators of Super Mario Bros., designed to deliver Nintendo news straight to fans in a more immediate way than ever before. During the March 2025 Nintendo Direct, video game icon Shigeru Miyamoto unveiled this exciting new tool. Available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play, the app offers a range of features that Nintendo enthusiasts will love.

This comprehensive platform acts as both a daily calendar and a news hub, providing players with real-time updates. Miyamoto highlighted that following next week's Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, users can log into the Nintendo Today app to stay updated, with new content being added daily.

The app offers a more direct approach than traditional Nintendo Directs, encouraging fans to stay engaged with regular updates, even outside of major announcements. As you open the app each day, you'll be greeted by beloved characters from franchises like Mario, Pikmin, and Animal Crossing. The feed will not only feature the latest news but also include exclusive Nintendo-themed content. Highlights from the Nintendo Direct included a new Pikmin 4 comic titled "Too Stuck to Pluck" and "Pearls of Wisdom" from Animal Crossing's Pascal.

While Nintendo Today may not be the blockbuster announcement some fans were hoping for, such as news on Zelda or Super Smash Bros., it provides another valuable channel for fans to connect with their favorite gaming world. For more details on announcements like Metroid, Pokémon, and other reveals from the March 2025 Nintendo Direct, you can find more information here.
