Akatsuki Games recently announced the End of Service (EOS) for their latest game, Tribe Nine. Released just a few months ago in February across Android, iOS, and PC (via Steam), the game is set to close its doors on November 27th, 2025. This announcement came alongside the shocking revelation that Chapter 4 of the main storyline will not be released. Fans were eagerly anticipating what was hinted at in previous updates, making this news particularly disheartening.
Since May 15th, all new updates, features, bug fixes, and content releases have been halted. Even anticipated additions, such as the characters Ichinosuke Akiba and Saizo Akiba, will no longer be introduced. Players who purchased Paid Enigma Entities for Armed Support, Advanced Support, or the Support Contract – Revenio will receive refunds once the Revenio contract concludes. Additionally, buying Enigma Entities or Daily Passes is no longer possible through either the app or the web store. However, existing Enigma Entities can still be used until the official shutdown.
What caused Tribe Nine’s rapid decline? As a free-to-play extreme action RPG with a distinct style and rich world-building, the game had potential. Unfortunately, its release pace was painfully slow, delivering only one story chapter and one event over three months. Moreover, there was little incentive for players to spend money, as a strong team could be built with minimal effort, reducing monetization opportunities for developers.
The decision to adopt a gacha system proved risky, and ultimately, unsuccessful. Despite these challenges, Tribe Nine remains playable until November 27th. For those interested, it’s worth checking out on the Google Play Store before it’s gone.
