Stellar Blade Update Causes Critical BugsDevs Now Working On Hotfix

Stellar Blade’s Patch 1.009 update not only introduced the much-anticipated Photo Mode and NieR: Automata collaboration DLC, but also some critical bugs. Players have reported being softlocked from progressing a main quest in an earlier dungeon. Others reported game crashes using the selfie cam in Photo Mode, and new cosmetic items not rendering correctly on Eve.

Developers Shift Up are working on a hotfix to resolve these issues. They advise against forcing quest progression and suggest waiting for the hotfix, as brute-forcing may cause permanent softlocks even after the fix.

Stellar Blade Shift Up Slips Up with DLC Update

Patch 1.009 for Stellar Blade includes substantial content, beginning with the NieR: Automata collaboration! The Stellar Blade developers stated on the PlayStation Blog that NieR: Automata "significantly inspired" the game, and that this "collaboration between Director Kim Hyung Tae and Director Yoko Taro, marked by mutual respect and creativity, resulted in this successful outcome." To acquire the 11 collaboration-exclusive items, find NieR character Emil, who's established a shop in Stellar Blade to offer amazing goods.

With exceptional graphics and a captivating cast, many players desired personalized snapshots of their favorite Stellar Blade characters. Shift Up fulfilled this long-standing request, adding Photo Mode in the latest update. As announced, Photo Mode lets players pose protagonist Eve and her companions. Furthermore, new photo challenge requests leverage this feature.

To enhance Photo Mode, Eve receives four new outfits and a new accessory (obtained after completing a specific ending) altering Tachy Mode's appearance. A "No Ponytail" option joins ponytail length settings, further customizing Eve's look. Other improvements include lip-sync support for 6 additional languages, enhanced projectile auto-aim and bullet magnet functions for the instant death skill, and various bug fixes for improved gameplay.
