In the highly anticipated cooperative action game, *Elden Ring Nightreign*, fans will notice a significant departure from a traditional From Software feature: the absence of the infamous poisonous swamps. This change was confirmed by the project's product manager, Yasuhiro Kitao, during a recent discussion with journalists. Although a similar location appeared in the game's trailer, Kitao clarified that it is an entirely different setting. He attributed the omission of these challenging areas to the absence of Hidetaka Miyazaki, the head of From Software, who is known for his affinity for swamp locations and has been instrumental in including them in both *Elden Ring* and the *Dark Souls* series. Notably, Miyazaki did not participate in the development of *Elden Ring Nightreign*.

In addition to the absence of poisonous swamps, *Elden Ring Nightreign* may introduce a new two-player mode. Currently, the game has been announced to support both single-player and three-player modes, with the developers citing content balancing challenges as the reason for initially excluding a two-player option. However, From Software is actively considering the addition of this mode, though no final decision has been made yet.
Mark your calendars: *Elden Ring Nightreign* is set to launch on May 30, 2025, and will be available on PC and across two generations of consoles. Stay tuned for more updates as the release date approaches.
