Destiny 2's Festival of the Lost 2025: A Ghoulish Choice Amidst Community Concerns

Destiny 2 players face a chilling decision: choose between "Slashers" or "Spectres" armor sets for the upcoming Festival of the Lost event. Bungie's reveal showcases designs inspired by horror icons like Jason Voorhees, Ghostface, the Babadook, La Llorona, and even Slenderman, offering players a unique cosmetic choice. Titans can embody Jason or the Babadook, Hunters can become Ghostface or La Llorona, and Warlocks can don a Scarecrow or Slenderman aesthetic. The losing armor set from the 2024 event, the Wizard set, will be made available during Episode Heresy.

However, this announcement, while exciting for many, has been met with mixed reactions within the Destiny 2 community. The focus on an event ten months away has overshadowed ongoing concerns about prevalent bugs, declining player numbers, and general frustration with Episode Revenant's numerous issues. The season's tonic brewing mechanic, for example, has been plagued by bugs, further fueling player discontent.

The community's desire for acknowledgement of these persistent problems, and a clear roadmap for improvement, remains largely unmet. While the new armor sets offer a tantalizing glimpse into the future, the current state of the game continues to be a source of significant concern for many dedicated players. The upcoming vote for the Festival of the Lost armor serves as a stark reminder of the duality of the game's current situation: exciting new content juxtaposed against lingering issues.
