The Tawakkalna Emergency app stands as the official tool in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia dedicated to managing emergency situations and enhancing community safety. Developed by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), it has been instrumental in curbing the spread of COVID-19 across the nation.
Initially, Tawakkalna was launched to streamline relief efforts by issuing electronic permits during the Curfew Period. These permits were essential for both government and private sector employees, as well as for individuals, to move safely and legally during lockdown, thereby helping to control the spread of the virus.
As the situation evolved into the "Return with Caution" phase, the app introduced several vital new services aimed at ensuring a secure return to normalcy. One of the key features was the implementation of a health status indicator through a color-coded system, designed with the highest standards of security and privacy in mind. This allowed users to easily understand and communicate their health status, further aiding in the containment efforts against COVID-19.
