South Park Season 27 Release Date Revealed in New Trailer

Author : Ryan May 07,2025

The boys are back in town — and by the boys, we're talking about Stan, Kyle, Kenny, and Cartman. South Park is set to return for its much-anticipated Season 27, diving headfirst into the current state of affairs with their signature barely-coping attitude.

The beloved animated series kicked things off with a new trailer that cleverly tricked the audience into thinking they were getting a dramatic sneak peek into a new drama series. The trailer's intense editing and ominous music set the stage perfectly... until Randy, Stan's dad, and his sister Shelley appear on-screen. Randy, sitting on Shelley's bed with a Wicked movie poster in the background, asks her if she's been taking drugs. "Because I think it could really help you," he quips, breaking the tension and revealing the classic South Park humor.

South Park Season 27 is slated to premiere on Wednesday, July 9th, 2025. Following the initial gag, the trailer shifts back to showcasing intense action, hinting at several significant and topical moments expected in the new season. Expect to see major plane crashes, the Statue of Liberty being toppled, a P. Diddy appearance, and, unsurprisingly for long-time fans or those familiar with the 1999 film South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut, another war with Canada.

The teaser confirms that Season 27 will air on Comedy Central, marking over two years since the conclusion of Season 26. In the interim, the series has released three specials: 2023's South Park: Joining the Panderverse and South Park (Not Suitable For Children), followed by 2024's South Park: The End of Obesity.

South Park celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2022, having first debuted on Comedy Central in 1997 to near-instant acclaim. As we approach the premiere of Season 27, fans can look forward to more of the sharp wit and social commentary that has made the show a cultural phenomenon.
