⚫︎ Elden Ring: Nightreign director Junya Ishizaki has clarified that the game's roguelike features weren’t added to follow industry trends, but rather emerged organically from the development process. Speaking to PC Gamer in a recent issue, Ishizaki explained that the goal was to condense the RPG experience—exploration, character building, and leveling—into a tighter, more focused loop.

Some sellers are attempting to profit by using screenshots of the confirmation emails as proof, despite not yet having access to actual codes. ⚫︎ An Elden Ring player known as chickensandwich420 has committed to fighting Messmer from the upcoming Shadow of the Erdtree DLC every day with a different weapon—and without taking a single hit—until Elden Ring: Nightreign launches, according to TheGamer. While the original plan was to cycle through bosses across all FromSoftware games, the player opted to focus solely on Messmer due to time constraints, citing their final year of university as a key factor.

⚫︎ Elden Ring: Nightreign will not include the iconic player messaging system featured in previous FromSoftware titles, director Junya Ishizaki confirmed in an interview with IGN Japan. While players will still see the ghosts of others, the ability to leave floor messages—often used for guidance, humor, or deception—has been removed due to the game's new structure.

According to Ishizaki, the decision stems from Nightreign’s session-based design, where each playthrough lasts around 40 minutes. With limited time for exploration, the team determined there wouldn't be enough opportunity for players to read or write messages. Set in the procedurally generated realm of Limveld, Nightreign introduces a roguelike format, featuring a three-day progression system and co-op gameplay for up to three players.

⚫︎ In an interview with Famitsu, game director Junya Ishizaki revealed that Elden Ring: Nightreign will include a small number of enemies from the Dark Souls series. These additions reflect the chaos brought into the world by the Night King and align with the game’s thematic focus on disruption. Set in a parallel universe, Nightreign allows FromSoftware to reference its previous titles.

Ishizaki also revealed that the game will feature eight distinct playable characters, each with unique abilities and backstories. A new progression system will unfold the world across three virtual days, with each cycle introducing changes to the map, including new events, enemies, and points of interest. Exploration will also be supported by the Spectral Hawk, a companion designed to help players discover shortcuts and navigate the evolving landscape.
