The first public test server for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has now gone live, offering an early glimpse into the much-anticipated Update 7.0 and its corresponding patch notes. In a community post, Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive shared that the preliminary patch notes for the PTS version encompass "most" of the Update 7.0 features, though they noted that the final patch notes may differ due to ongoing bug fixes.
For PC players eager to dive into the PTS (which is not available on consoles), Update 7.0 introduces a host of new features. This includes a new PvE mission named Exfiltration, a new secondary weapon, the Inferno Pistol, available for the Vanguard, Sniper, and Heavy classes, endgame-focused prestige ranks in PvE, and the addition of private PvP lobbies.
Fans of Warhammer 40,000 will be thrilled with the new customization options, including new colors like Volupus Pink and Thousand Sons Blue, along with the ability to recolor Bulwark cloth and hands. Additionally, PvP rewards have been boosted by 50%. The PTS also brings exclusive skins such as the Imperial Fists Champion for the Tactical class and the Space Wolves Champion for the Vanguard class.
Significant balance changes are also part of Update 7.0, featuring an expanded weapon arsenal in PvE, allowing all classes a broader choice of weapons. Notably, the Assault class can now wield the Power Sword without the need for mods. Players should refer to the patch notes for a comprehensive overview of the weapon adjustments.
A welcome update in the Inferno Operation addresses griefing issues. Now, if a player reaches the assembly area in the final stage, other players will be teleported there after a notification and a short delay, preventing indefinite stalling by players outside the assembly area.
